In your browser

Your settings and choices are stored in your browser, in its local storage on your device, never on Vooum's server: the theme, colours and sound, the time zone you picked, your garage of racers, the characters and cars you picked, your calls, which items you liked and your vote, whether you closed the welcome note, the name you last gave with a comment, which comments you wrote and how you voted on comments, and a random key that lets you like an item once and take the like back. Clearing the data your browser keeps for vooum.com removes all of it.

On Vooum's server

• Visitors box. A page view is kept for a day as its time, its country and a tag: a salted hash: the first 16 characters of a SHA-256 fingerprint of a random salt, your address and your browser. The salt is new every day (UTC) and the old one is deleted, so a tag cannot be traced back to an address or linked to another day. Your address is never written down. To know the country, it is looked up at kodachi.cloud's address lookup at most once a day.
• Likes and votes. Kept as counts per item, each like and vote under a fingerprint of your browser's random key and a secret kept on the server, so nobody can tell from the file whose it is. Your address is used only to stop more than a fair number of likes in an hour, as a fingerprint with a daily salt, kept for that hour.
• Comments. Each comment you post is public: its text, the name you gave (or "Visitor") and its time. It is kept with a fingerprint of your browser's random key and a secret kept on the server, so you can delete your own comment and vote once on each comment, and nobody can tell from the file whose it is; votes and reports are kept the same way. Your address is used only to limit how many comments, votes and reports one place can send in an hour, as a fingerprint with a daily salt, kept for that hour. Up to the newest 300 comments are kept for each strategy and signal.
• Counts. How often each race, strategy, character and car is used: totals only, the same for everyone. Your address is used only to limit how fast one place can add to them, as a fingerprint with a daily salt, kept for that minute. Automated browsers are not counted.
• Private totals. Daily totals of page events (visits, return visits, races started, signals opened and the like), kept for about 400 days to see what visitors use. They hold no address and no fingerprint and are never shown.

Requests to other places

The country flags in the visitors box load from kodachi.cloud, the founder's Kodachi system. The share buttons open the service you choose only when you press them. Vooum loads no fonts, scripts, adverts or trackers from anywhere else. The server that hosts Vooum may keep its usual access logs.
